Toppers Pizza in Camarillo is a family friendly establishment with a wide array of tasty options. Its claim to fame is the hefty sized dough which is prepared daily. While not much has changed in the years since its opening, Toppers has managed to keep up with the times. With plenty of parking, a decent selection of beer and wine, and an enviable customer service staff, Toppers is a pleasant place to unwind.
The company has a lot of accolades to its name. From its impressive decor and eye-popping menu to its low-key yet warm atmosphere, Toppers in Camarillo is a pizza lover’s paradise. Aside from its signature pepperoni, there are a plethora of specialty pies to choose from, such as the aptly named ‘Pizza Papi’. And if that wasn’t enough, you’ll find a solid selection of wings and fries to boot. You’ll also find a handful of salads, soups and side dishes to round out your meal. In fact, the aforementioned Pepperoni Papi is a surprisingly popular order at dinnertime, despite its relative rarity in the greater Ventura County area.
As for the restaurant’s business model, a combination of recent improvements, namely the introduction of a new upscale wine list, has led to an unprecedented increase in traffic. That said, toppers in Camarillo is still a small fry when compared to more established competitors in this town. Luckily, the company has managed to keep its doors open, even during a busy holiday season. This has allowed it to maintain its current clientele, while adding some welcome new faces. If you’re looking in Camarillo for an inexpensive night out with friends or a raucous date, Toppers is the place to be.
The restaurant has been a local favorite for well over a decade. Not to mention that its owner, Vim Jonker, has been on the job for decades. To make things easier for the current occupant, the company recently announced that it will move into a larger location near the aforementioned Paseo del Sol center. Hopefully this is just the beginning of more good news to come. With so many businesses popping up around Camarillo, it’s nice to see a few old stalwarts remain in business.
